Terms of Use and Important Notes

  • Loaned computers are available only for classwork, research, and educational purposes. Using the computers for commercial purposes (such as at a part-time job, charging money for information obtained via rented items, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
  • Upon leasing the equipment and accessories, make sure that all the items are inside the computer bag and that they are not damaged. We cannot accept returned items if there is anything missing upon return and remember to bring your student ID card when returning the items.
  • The student must lease and return the items in person, and the items may not be used by third parties (do not lend them to third parties or have someone else return the items for you).
  • Regardless of the reason, if you do not return the items by the return deadline, you will not be able to lease a computer for a week for the first and second incidences, and for a year if you are overdue for the third time onward. Furthermore, regardless of the number of overdue incidents, if you are late returning the items by ten days or more, you will be barred from leasing computers while you are enrolled at Keio University. You will also be required to submit a form in which you must give a detailed explanation of the delay.
  • Damaged or lost (including stolen) items must be promptly reported to Hiyoshi KIC. Depending on the situation, you may be suspended from leasing items or be required to compensate for the loss/damage or replace the equipment/accessories.
  • If the items are overdue and there is no contact from the student or the student does not respond to return requests by Hiyoshi KIC, the office will contact the faculty/graduate school the student is affiliated with.
  • After return, all data inside the laptop will be deleted, so make sure you back up your data.
  • Under no circumstances will Hiyoshi KIC take responsibility for any loss of personal data.
  • Illegal activities (such as copyright or portrait rights infringement, unauthorized access, or the distribution of obscene content, child sexual abuse material, or content related to child abuse), as well as misuse of online anonymity for fraudulent purposes or to slander or defame others, are strictly prohibited.
  • If a user is found to be in clear violation of the above terms and conditions, Hiyoshi KIC may investigate the relevant usage data and, if necessary, suspend the user’s borrowing privileges. Likewise, if the user's handling or use of the equipment is deemed to be seriously problematic, their borrowing privileges may be suspended, and the user’s faculty or graduate school may be notified.
