(Q1) What is Keio Mail?
(A1) It is a university-wide common mail system that all the faculty members and students at Keio University can use.
Keio Mail can be used from a Web browser. You can send and receive email messages anytime and
anywhere you have an Internet connection.
(Q2) Who can use Keio Mail?
(A2) As of March 2022, the program is available to undergraduate, graduate, faculty, staff, and correspondence course students.
Some non-degree students can not use Keio Mail.
(Q3) Can I use Keio Mail after graduating?
(A3) Yes. Students who graduate or withdraw from the doctoral program after the completion of required course work without submission of a thesis after March 2015 can use it continuously. For details see here.
(Q4) I want to use Keio Mail. What should I do?
(A4) You can use Keio Mail with your keio.jp (Keio Single Sign-On System)
account.
If you already have a keio.jp (Keio Single Sign-On System)
account, you can use Keio Mail by selecting "Keio Mail" on the window that appears after you log into keio.jp.
If you have not yet obtained your Keio ID, please go through activation to obtain one.
For details on activation, please refer to the keio.jp User's Guide.
(Q5) I don't need Keio Mail.
(A5) All the users of keio.jp can use Keio Mail. However, this does not mean you are required to use it. Please use the system to suit your needs.
(Q6) Can I use my current email address for Keio Mail as well?
(A6) No. The email address for Keio Mail is your Keio ID. On the other hand, in Keio Mail, you can receive email addressed to other email addresses using the POP protocol. So you are able to read and write messages for other mail systems through Keio Mail.
(Q7) When I have logged in to Keio mail (Gmail), normal Gmail service opens.
(A7) Log out of Gmail, and log in to Keio mail once more. You can switch between normal Gmail service and Keio mail on your Web browser. For details, see "Account switching operation method". The reason of this phenomenon is not because the normal Gmail service (@gmail.com) and Keio mail (@keio.jp) accounts are integrated.
(Q8) I have forwarded emails received by Keio mail to an email address of a cell phone, but recently I do not receive these emails on the cell phone.
(A8) Please set forwarding to the cell phone email address under Keio mail (Gmail). For the method, see "Automatically forwarding emails". And confirm whether or not the cell phone handles this as Spam. Please let email addressed as "keio-taro@a2.keio.jp" and with "@keio.jp" be delivered if, for example, the Keio mail address is keio-taro@a2.keio.jp.
(Q9) When I have logged in to Keio mail (Gmail), "Contains a redirect loop on this web site." was displayed.
(A9) Data stored in the browser's cache might cause this error messages to appear. See How To Clear the Browser's Cache and Other Records.
(Q10) I have received a notice from someone that e-mail was sent to a Keio e-mail address, but I has not arrived in my Keio mailbox.
(A10) Log in to Keio mail from the web and search for the sender from "All Mail." If you cannot find the e-mail by searching, it is possible that Gmail’s own filter decided it was spam mail, so check the "Spam" mail folder.
